Delhi University Will Start 10 Online Courses In SOL

In the School of Open Learning (SOL) of Delhi University, preparations are being made for online courses from next year. At the beginning of the courses in the online format, the administration plans to take 30 percent online exams and 70 percent offline. The administration has prepared a blueprint for it.

To this, the new online regulation of the UGC has also passed in the meeting of the Governing Body of SOL. It will now be placed in the Academic Council and the Executive Council. However, before the whole process is initiated, the administration is awaiting DU’s NAC result. Prof. CS Dubey, Director of the campus of Open Learning, said that the administration is preparing to bring online courses. At present, five undergraduates and five PG courses are taught through distance education.

A proposal to open 10 new UG courses in SOL was prepared in the year 2016. The administration now wants to start these courses online. The courses which are currently running in SOL, are also planned to be made online. Prof. Dubey said that these courses will be based on CBCs (Choice Best Credit System), when the online courses are started, the lectures will be online and the assignments will also be given online. For this, the administration is awaiting NAC’s result. It is worth mentioning that recently the team of NAC had visited DU, with which the result is yet to come.

Ten New Online Courses

Five Colleges BA, BCom, BA Honors Political Science, BCom Honors, and BA Honors English Courses are being run in SOL from the year 1962. BA Honors Mathematics, BA Hons History, BA Honors Economics, BA Hons Hindi, BA Honors Sanskrit, BA Honors Hindi Journalism, BA Vocational Human Resource Management, BA Vocational Office Management, and Sectarian Practices, BA Vocational Marketing in New Proposed Courses Management and Retail Business and BA Vocational.
